Blue Star Catering is a Detroit area-based corporate caterer with over 22 years in business. We're rebuilding operations and looking for a hands-on chef to help relaunch and run our kitchen out of Royal Oak.
You’ll be in the kitchen and on the job: prepping, cooking, plating, shopping, cleaning, managing inventory, and helping scale the team as we grow.
Schedule & Pay
- Starting Part to Full-time (30-40hrs)
- Early start times as needed (based on events/client needs)
- No night work
- Occasional Saturday event (rare, corporate clients only)
Compensation: $25–$32 per hour depending on experience
Perks & Breaks
- Two weeks paid winter break (after holiday season)
- Two weeks paid summer break (around July 4)
- Closed on all major holidays
- No late nights
- Weekday-focused schedule
What We’re Looking For:
- Hands-on chef who can lead by doing
- Strong kitchen management, prep, and consistency skills
- High attention to detail and presentation
- Comfortable with all aspects: cooking, ordering, cleanup, team leadership
- Reliable, punctual, clean, and focused
- Open to growing with the company
- Bonus if you bring sales experience or existing clients
